Step 2. Outsourcing Induction. To induce the out-of-body state, close your eyes and visualize your physical body at rest. Take as much time as you need to form a clear image of your physical body, then visualize your astral double as a light form bearing consciousness, rising gently upward and away. Once you reach a full sense of separation from your physical body, mentally reaffirm your intent to explore distant astral realms and engage the presence of accompanying astral guides. Use imagery of distant planes and astral guides to reinforce your affirmations. At this point in the procedure, you will likely experience the unmistakable presence of astral guides, as they ascend with you toward the spiritual planes. Upon reaching the spiritual dimension, many travelers experience wonder at the breaking of the cosmic energy barrier and the awesome emergence of the astral realm. Entrance into that splendid realm is almost always accompanied by awareness of multiple colors and a magnificent infusion of cosmic energy, along with a sense of belonging and oneness with the universe.

Step 3. Multicolored Outsourcing. At this step, the infusion of cosmic energy continues, as you engage the multicolored astral plane. If you have practiced past-life excursion, or other regression procedures that explore life between lives, you will immediately recognize this familiar zone, in which teachers, guides, angels, and other ministering entities appear as warm, nurturing friends rather than cold, distant authorities. Telepathy is the common communication mode, and pure love characterizes every empowering interaction. Discarnates, some of whom are familiar, are typically present in indescribably beautiful surroundings.

The major resource of the multicolored plane is cosmic love, the essential element in our spiritual evolution. You can infuse yourself with pure cosmic love simply by lingering in this dimension and interacting with its growth facilitators. Cosmic love is the most powerful force in the universe. It empowers our entire being—mentally, physically, and spiritually—with positive energy and vitality. A full infusion of cosmic love provides the basic foundation for outsourcing the more highly specialized planes in the cosmos.

Although deeply personal interactions with discarnates can occur while outsourcing other planes, they often unfold at this level. Common examples are joyful reunions with the departed, including relatives, friends, and animals. These interactions are invariably empowering for all involved.

Step 4. Specialized Outsourcing. At this point, you can choose to conclude the outsourcing experience, and go directly to Step 5, or you can continue by tapping into the more specific resources of the other planes with Specialized Outsourcing. Numerous specialized planes, each characterized by a different color that signifies its empowerment specialty, are available for outsourcing.

The specialized planes most frequently experienced during out-sourcing are violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. (The pure white energy realm is experienced by astral travelers only indirectly, as a distant source of energy and coloration for all planes.) Each plane has its own resources, growth frequencies, and specialized growth facilitators.
